Japan Trip 2018 - Day 12

HOTEL NIKKO KANSAI AIRPORT
KANSAI INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

We have come to the end of our Japan tour. Thank you Japan for the warm hospitality and exceptional kindness you have shown us for the past 11 days. We will bring home all the wonderful memories we have created together and cherish and talk about these for a long time.

We checked out from Hotel Nikko Kansai Airport and it took us only 5 minutes to reach the check-in counter. After the efficient and smooth check-in, we proceeded to have a light breakfast at St Marc Café before our flight. In fact, we were so early. So we decided to finish spending all the Yen currency that we had, down to the last coin. And yes, we did and we ended with more shopping bags!

Snoozing after a meal

The 7 hour flight to Singapore was pretty smooth sailing with occasional bumps of turbulence. While I was worried about the princess well-being, she literally slept through the bad weather period. It was in fact such a blessing to fly with her. Except for the numerous requests to change her entertainment channel, she was generally well-behaved. How not to love her? Haha.
After being away for 11 days, we finally touched down to Changi International Airport. Hmmmm.... Kinda missed home and local food.

While unpacking, below are some of the super-cute items I bought from Japan.

Dried fruits bought in Kyoto
My pinky collection
One glance and you will be able to know my
favourite character
Sakura biscuits

Chocolate biscuits

Sooooooooooooooooo......................To Japan - It's not goodbye yet. It's "We will see you again soon"

BUFFET BREAKFAST AT HOTEL
SEACLE PLEASURE TOWN

As it was our last day in Japan, we decided to "reward" ourselves with the hotel buffet breakfast. Now let me explain - Daddy is not a breakfast person, he prefers to sleep than to wake up for breakfast. I'm totally the opposite - I will set my alarm to wake up for my coffee and breakfast.
So when I suggested having the buffet breakfast, I was a little surprised when Daddy agreed. And even more surprised that he managed to wake up in time!

The breakfast selection consisted of the usual breakfast items with the addition of Japanese style breakfast. Simple yet satisfying and by Japanese standards, the buffet line was kept very clean (spillage was wiped away almost instantly) and plates were cleared from our table promptly.

But we found only one English book. Haha.
Bread selection - I like how everything was kept neatly in such
hygienic manner

After breakfast, we said goodbye to Daddy as he left to meet his colleagues for his company trip. That was when the drama began ~~~~~~~

Still smiling at this moment

At the bus bay where we were supposed to part way, the seemingly self assured little girl began to sulk. Then it turned into weeping and finally escalated into loud wailing with shouts of "Daddy ~~~~~~~~" echoing through Kansai Airport. Wahhhhhh ~~~~~~~ I had to pull her away from her Daddy's arms while comforting her in my tears. I don't know what triggered my tear ducts - maybe it's the anxiety of being alone with my little girl in a foreign land for the very first time. In a bid to stop her crying, I promised to bring her to the indoor playground later.

Still sobbing, we took the bus to the premium outlet once again, this time to explore Seacle Pleasure Town. Upon alighting from the bus, the princess commented she was hungry. Hungry?! What?! I thought we just had breakfast not too long ago. Maybe she used up all her energy in crying her heart out for her Daddy. Haha.

We found Ootoya at Seacle Pleasure Town and the princess still had fond memories of this restaurant when we dined in Kyoto. However, the food in this branch could not match up to the Kyoto branch. It was my first ever meal in Japan that tasted awful.

My meal - the chicken tasted horrible

After lunch, we did some shopping to digest our lunch before proceeding to the indoor playground as promised.
I remembered the entrance ticket was relatively cheap like Y1,800 (about S$20) for unlimited play time. After making the payment, we put our shoes on the rack, sanitised our hands and the princess ran with lightning speed around the play area.
The place was very well maintained and there was a small seating area for parents to sit down while supervising their children, complete with vending machines!
In no time, the princess soon forgot her sorrow of parting with her Daddy and had such a good time.

We stayed for close to 2 hours at the indoor playground. While the princess went around hopping in joy, I took the chance to rest at the seating area with a can of iced coffee.
After much nagging, the princess finally agreed to leave her play paradise with reluctance and complained of hunger after leaving the premises. Luckily, her mummy always prepared goodies in the backpack.
We found a quiet spot by the ferris wheel, sat down and enjoyed our snack while doing people-watching. It was quite a joy to be spending time this way with my princess. No stress, no rush, no time limit. Just chillax.

Tea break!

We did some last minute shopping before taking the shuttle bus back to the airport. As it was my first time with my princess in a foreign land, I thought it was not wise to stay out after dusk.

As we were getting tired, we bought our bento sets from the convenience store for dinner. It was certainly a cheaper dining option plus you get to enjoy the food in your room comfort. So why not?

A portion of pasta can make her so happy

After dinner, I began my daunting task of packing as we will be flying home the next day. It seemed like mission impossible to pack so many stuff. Faint ~~~~~

The most effective way of packing

As I put the last piece of item into my luggage, it kind of concluded our Japan adventure. We certainly had fun and I'm sure the memories we created will stay in our hearts forever.
