Family Road Trip - K.L/Genting Highlands - Day 1

Geobay Hotel Bukit Indah
Ding Sheng Restaurant

For many years, we have been trying to persuade our father to make a family trip with us and every time we brought up the subject, he will decline all suggestions. So when the idea of driving up to Genting popped up, he agreed immediately.
So without further ado, we started planning for the trip before Dad changed his mind again. After discussion, we decided to do a 5D4N road trip to Kuala Lumpur and Genting during the Christmas break.

As my brother is a frequent traveller to Malaysia, we left most of the planning to his expertise. From booking of hotels, planning of itinerary and routes to cover, he has got everything under his control. It was also my first time travelling in ease - no need to think too much, just follow the flow and my brother! Haha.

So the plan was for us to check into a hotel at Bukit Indah, Johor on a Friday night and continue our drive up to Kuala Lumpur the next day. This move was to prevent being stuck in the famous causeway traffic jam on Saturday morning especially so when it was the long festive break.

My brother suggested going into Johor on the Friday afternoon but my annual leave quota has already been stretched to the limit. So I could only depart at night. So my brother brought my Dad into Johor earlier and what a blast my Dad had. They went for a massage, a movie and dinner together.

My Dad enjoying his massage. The fire on his legs
may look kinda scary but he said it was quite
comfortable.

As for us, we left Singapore at 8pm and kept our fingers crossed that traffic will not be too bad. Our worst case scenario was reaching the hotel by midnight. But I guess Lady Luck was smiling on us as we managed to reach the hotel by 10pm! Yeah! Still in time for supper!

Off we go!
Well prepared for the trip

Yeah! We made it before our ETA!

We dropped our bags in the room and followed "the tour guide" obediently to this restaurant that sells frog leg porridge. The frogs legs were cheap and good! Yummy!

After a super satisfying supper, we headed back to our hotel to rest for the night. It will be a long journey to Kuala Lumpur tomorrow.
