Malacca Trip 2018 - Day 2

Casa del Rio Melaka (Breakfast)
Jonker Walk
Dataran Pahlawan Melaka Megamall
Aeon Bukit Indah Mall

Do you love buffet breakfast at the hotel? I absolutely love it, so does my princess. My other half on the other hand is not a breakfast person - he probably prefers sleep over food. But if he does wake up for breakfast, he will take an awfully long time to get ready which will leave both of us starving. So, our strategy is for me and princess to go downstairs to secure a table first, enjoy our breakfast WHILE waiting for his arrival. It's a win-win situation - we won't faint from hunger and he gets to hog the bathroom.

Breakfast at Casa del Rio Melaka was an amazing spread - a good mixture of both Western and Asian selection. The variety was plenty and the quality and taste fared pretty well.
While I went searching in vain for the eggs counter, I was informed by the serving staff that we could order the eggs directly from them. Oh wow!

It was Christmas month when we visited

Ahhhhhhh ~~~~~ Yummmmmmm

Scrambled eggs on toast

After breakfast, we went to the pool for a quick dip before checking out. Coincidentally, there was a dragon boat competition of some sort happening on that day. It was quite fun cheering the team on even though we don't even know them. Haha.

After checking out, we walked over to the famous San Shu Gong shop (三叔公) shop to buy some local snacks and we kinda went overboard with our shopping power. Every items looked inviting and we carted off with 3 full baskets. Happiness ~~~~ The staff was kind enough to help us pack all our stuff into a big carton box to make it easier to carry back to our car.

Ready? Let's go shopping!

The happy man

The super cute egg ice cream

It was close to 2pm when we left the hotel and we headed straight to Dataran Pahlawan Melaka Megamall for lunch and perhaps more shopping (grin).
As we were starving by the time we reached the mall, we settled on a Hong Kong style café restaurant and proceeded to wolf down our lunch.

We walked around the mall in a bid to digest the hastily consumed lunch and finally left Malacca at about 5.30pm.

Our plan was to reach Bukit Indah area by 7pm for dinner. However, we were delayed by some traffic along the way and it was close to 8pm when dinner was finally served at one of our favourite restaurant - Dragon-I.
This restaurant never failed to impress us with their dishes and we left Bukit Indah with a happy tummy and few kilograms heavier.

So blessed that she eats well.

There's always room for dessert.

Though it was a short 2D1N trip and I was slapped with severe sun burn on my neck and arms (due to over exposure in the car), it was truly an enjoyable one to be able to spend quality time with my loved ones.
I personally loved the hotel that we stayed in - Casa del Rio Melaka. It has that rustic feel that made us feel like we were in Europe.
It was a pity we didn't have much time to enjoy Jonker Walk even though it was only a stone's throw away from our hotel. Hopefully we will have the chance in the future to visit this historic city again.
